What is the ECO Scheme?

ECO stands for Energy Company Obligation. It is a government scheme, administered by Ofgem, which obligates large energy companies to fund the installation of energy efficient measures in domestic properties in the UK. Its purpose if to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.

Every energy supplier that has 150,000 clients or more are obligated, including British Gas, EOn, Scottish Power and NPower. Obligated suppliers work with installers to introduce financial saving energy measures including loft insulation and solid wall insulation.

You DO NOT need to be supplied by an obligated energy supplier to benefit, you just need to meet the eligibility requirements.

What Measures are Included?

You can choose which measures you want installed as long as you property meets the requirements for the measures, some properties are also entitled to multiple measures. Contact us to check which measures you can have installed.

The most popular measures include the following:

Loft Insulation
Requirements: Your loft must currently have 100mm or less insulation.
Solid Wall Insulation
Requirements: Your walls must be solid.
Cavity Wall Insulation
Requirements: You must have cavity walls with partial fill or no insulation.
